Success Story

World All Star Academy

Jayton and his wife are originally from the Texas Panhandle, and his family moved to Amarillo in the winter of 2020. Their kids were accustomed to playing and training outside year-round because they lived in an area where winters were mild. They called multiple gyms and churches to ask if they rented out their space for training and were shocked that there were no affordable options. They made their minds up that Amarillo needed an affordable indoor sports training facility that had turf. World All Star Academy, LLC opened in August of 2021. America’s SBDC at WT business consultant, Ana Ramirez, suggested major improvements to certain areas of the business plan he already had in place. She helped tremendously with statistical and demographic data as well. We asked Jayton what motivates him, and his answer was, “Being a better husband, dad, son, mentor, friend, and trainer than the day I was before. The student-athletes that walk through the door motivate me.” As a trainer, we also knew he would have great advice for others who want to open a small business. “You will hear ‘no’ or ‘that’s impossible’ multiple times. It’s your dream and no one else so believe in yourself more than you ever have before. It’s worth every sacrifice opening a small business of your own.” One of the biggest challenges he has faced is getting the business “out there,” but advertising on social media has proven to be worth it. The most satisfying moment in business has been to see and hear the student-athletes’ success because of the training and mentorship they received. “It’s not and never will be about World All Star Academy. It’s about everyone that believes in and supports us. We offer private and group training for just about every sport out there.”
