The Burn Shop utilizes a state-of-the-art CNC plasma table to custom cut metal designs. While getting several unique requests for custom metalwork, their core competencies are outdoor cooking products such as grill grates and fire pits, as well as large metal commercial signage. Founded in 2016 by Keith Wineinger to make extra money during the oil and gas slowdown, sales quickly grew from $36,362 in 2016 to $156,365 in 2017. The family-owned and operated business has not looked back as sales are projected to easily exceed $200,000 in 2018. Keith and his team turned to the SBDC for assistance when they entered a business plan competition. The Burn Shop received guidance with relevant research and assistance with developing a business plan to include future expansion and additional employees. The SBDC worked to help them understand their financial statements and develop logical projections. The Burn Shop is now in contact with the BSDC as a trusted source of counseling and advice. Plans are underway to expand from a 20’ x 40’ location to a 60’ x 100’ shop within the next 18 months and move the powder coating processes in-house. With 12,000 combined followers on Facebook and Instagram, The Burn Shop has established a worldwide customer base through aggressive social media marketing. Along with online and direct sales, they have developed a growing wholesale distribution channel to expand into multiple markets and different product lines.
