Jose is an experienced business owner/manager with over 15 years of experience in the restaurant, real estate, and automotive industries. As a seasoned entrepreneur, Jose saw the need for a truck hauling service in his area. Because of the growing residential housing market and the ongoing needs of both the oilfield and the area’s agriculture-related businesses, Jose thought a region-wide hauling business could be successful. To achieve his goal of starting a trucking company, Jose sought out the services of the SBDC to help him build a business plan. The SBDC helped Jose validate the market opportunities and aided him in creating a set of financials that underscored the potential. As a result of working with the SBDC, Jose was able to build a solid business plan that detailed the business opportunity. Upon completion of his business plan, Jose worked with the bank and got his project successfully funded. MAAD Trucking is now operational, and it is established in the marketplace as a company that moves a wide variety of loads including construction materials, equipment, dirt, rocks, agricultural products, and sand. MAAD’s fleet currently consists of two trucks and two trailers, but MAAD is looking for opportunities to grow even more.
