Steve Haviland started his career in Information Technology in Houston, Texas where he worked for organizations such as Sprint and IBM. With encouragement from friends, family, and neighbors, in 2009 Steve launched Business Technology Solutions Group or BTSG, a managed IT service provider focused on delivering IT services in a fast, friendly, and frustration-free manner to nonprofits and businesses. BTSG has expanded into Oklahoma serving clients in Oklahoma City and Lawton. Steve first contacted the SBDC in 2009 during the start-up process and again in 2014 when he was rebranding and expanding his business. The SBDC assisted Steve with research, input on rebranding, and human resource topics. The business was getting attention from the media because it had the first 3D printer in Wichita Falls. Through the years, BTSG has requested ongoing research such as competitive analysis and other technical reports, and the SBDC has assisted with projections and other recordkeeping needs. The SBDC and Steve have partnered for various technology training events as well as during the pandemic regarding programs for small business owners. Steve remains the CEO of BTSG which now serves Wichita Falls, Lawton OK, and Oklahoma City. He also formed the Texoma Entrepreneurs Facebook group which focuses on providing information and guidance to people seeking to start a small business. Steve is focused on building a strong and prosperous community in Wichita Falls by sharing what he has learned after a decade of entrepreneurship.
