After visiting pet owners and veterinarians in Wichita Falls, the Tates knew there was a need for a facility that has compassion and integrity allowing families to honor their pet’s memory as well as caring for the family’s heart. Wichita Valley Pet Cremation opened in 2018 but requested SBDC assistance during the i.d.e.a WF Business Plan competition in 2019. The SBDC assisted the Tates in completing an executive summary, a business plan, and detailed financial projections. The process of working with the SBDC was helpful as Beth sees herself as an idea person, but not as comfortable with business terminology and processes. Wichita Valley Pet Cremation has grown to enjoy an excellent reputation with customers and with local veterinarians. They offer many services to meet the needs of each client, including cremation packages and a pick-up service, to accommodate individual needs in a way that supports them through difficult times. Other services include after-hours assistance, special order memorial items, a grievance package, and communal cremation. Beth says, “We seek to accommodate your needs and work with you to create unique and meaningful ways to honor your pet’s memory, in a timely manner. It is our honor to serve and support you through this difficult time with dignity and respect.”
