The Shed is a premium meat market specializing in Texas barbeque and dry rubs. The Shed originated in Wingate, TX in 1989 when Byson’s grandparents Hollis and Betty Dean grew their catering business into a restaurant. The Wingate location then closed in 2005. Byron and wife Stacie took over catering and continued this in addition to their full-time jobs till it was impossible to manage both. The Shed was opened in 2018. Bryon and Stacie worked endlessly with the Abilene SBDC from 2016 – 2019 in developing a business plan. Byron at the time owned and operated a construction business and Stacie worked as nurse. The Shed recently announced that due to an overwhelming response from the community and growing sells since opening their doors in 2018 they are expanding to a new location. Groundbreaking has happened and except to relocate in 2023. The new location will be larger, with more indoor and outdoor patio seating, a pickup window and additional parking. It will also have a room for lunch meetings or private gatherings. Also, to be included are live music, steak night and cooking classes.
