Torivio Melendez came to the SBDC in 2019 to create a business plan to start his company, The Right Way Heating and A/C, in Midland, Texas. He did not need a loan because he had enough owner equity to begin independently. However, he wanted the business plan to be his road map to success. The company was started in January 2020 based on the values of being an honest, reliable, and consistent company with competitive prices. They are a carrier dealer who offers a ten-year warranty on all equipment, this product and warranty are the industry gold standard. The company is a heating and cooling company for air conditioners, residential and commercial equipment, and air purification systems. Commercial and residential new construction is constantly growing in the Permian Basin, and licensed HVAC companies are in demand. Also, air purification is in high demand due to the West Texas environment. The Right Way HVAC has exceeded the financial projections from 2020 and is now working with the SBDC to obtain an SBA loan to construct a building and expand its operation.
