Jay Patterson came to the Abilene SBDC in November 2017 to prepare a business plan with interest in purchasing The Leaf, a premium cigar and pipe tobacco shop, from the previous owner. The loan was approved in October 2018 and was officially under new operation by March 1st, 2019. They also relocated to Downtown Abilene and offered curb-side pickup during their remodeling stages and Covid-19. They even had an increase in membership, business is steady and continues to grow.
