Mitchell and Patricia Harris worked with the Abilene SBDC from 2018-2021, who helped them in many ways from developing a business plan to keeping their business afloat through the pandemic. Sockdolager means a forceful blow; an exceptional person or thing, which is carried throughout their product. As a local brewery, they strive to provide beverages worth gathering around and inspiring the community. Sockdolager has been in business now for three years and recently expanded to the downtown SODA District. They have worked well with the Abilene SBDC through their years in business and the pandemic. They worked with the Abilene SBDC in applying for the SBA disaster loans where they were granted both the Payment Protection Plan and Emergency Disaster Loan. They used the PPP of $11,000 to continue current employment levels and cover the eight-week period, as stipulated per the PPP requirements.
