Jeremy Probasco was injured at work and became unable to perform his job’s essential functions. With the help of the Texas Workforce Commission, he later was able to get training and obtain certifications in asbestos air monitoring / project management. He then turned to the Lubbock SBDC for business startup advice, obtained an assumed name certificate, and started generating business revenue as a subcontractor for a consulting company. With the help of his SBDC consultant, Jeremy also prepared a business plan with financial proforma in order to gauge his potential revenues as well as estimating the necessary cash flow needed to run his operations. Armed with his business plan, Mr. Probasco applied for TWC funding to purchase equipment that will help him perform additional types of services.
