Caribbean cuisine is not something you think about when in Texas, but Fatisha Evans is changing that. She opened Fazmoz Caribbean Cuisine in August of 2019 and has been on a mission to convert chicken-fried steak lovers to Caribbean Cuisine! MSU has several Caribbean students and SAFB NATO families are always up for a new experience while stationed in Wichita Falls. Fatisha came to the SBDC in February 2019 requesting start-up assistance. She had $50,000 equity, determination, and lots of love for the project. She opened her doors in August 2019. Like all restaurants, she had some difficulty during the pandemic and turned to the SBDC for assistance in acquiring PPP and RRV funds. The restaurant has a special Valentine’s evening planned with an exclusive menu and packages such as: for Dinner for Two, Double Date, and The Makeup Package. Creativity and promotion are at their best! Fatisha credits the SBDC at MSU for giving her the “hope to remain open and provide a true Caribbean experience to the people of Wichita Falls.”
