Success Story

 Clark Design Studio

Will Clark began his journey by selling Real Estate when he moved to Wichita Falls, which eventually developed his love and passion for design and renovation. He loved being able to share his creative vision with clients and create their dream home by redesigning a space. Will came to the SBDC in October of 2017, seeking advice on turning his vision into a reality. As a realtor, Will knew about starting a business and the challenges that go along with being an entrepreneur. The SBDC later provided IBIS World reports and discussed the move to Kemp Blvd. In January of 2018 Clark Design Studio opened on Brook Street providing an upscale space for clients to come and collaborate with designers on home necessities such as custom window treatments, light fixtures, luxury flooring, and tile. Due to their growing success, the store relocated to a larger building on Kemp in June 2019, which allowed more room for inventory and a larger showroom space. (Fun note: the owner of the Kemp location made the SBDC aware that the property was available for lease. The SBDC text Will that the space was available and suggesting it might be a consideration due to the previous renter being a décor store, the very visible location, and the size. Will responded that he had already decided to make the move.) Clark Design Studio was able to show off the new space when he graciously hosted a meet and greet for U.S. Representative Mac Thornberry and thirty business owners. The SBDC and Will have stayed in contact during the COVID-19 crisis. The studio applied for and received the Economic Injury Disaster Loan and Advance as well as the Payroll Protection Program loan.
